Original personal and privately printed Christmas card from film & television actor, singer and record producer Steve Rowland (1932-). It dates from 1959.
Rowland's screen credits include The Moonlighter (1953), Men of the Fighting Lady (1954), Crime in the Streets (1956), Wild Youth (1961), The Thin Red Line (1964), et al. His TV credits include Hopalong Cassidy, Code 3, Tales of Wells Fargo, Wagon Train, Wanted: Dead or Alive, Bonanza, The Rifleman, Wyatt Earp, et al.
Rowland, the son of Hollywood director Roy Rowland, performed with the pop/rock group Los Flaps and his very own The Family Dogg. He later became a record producer and A&R man, discovering Peter Frampton and The Herd.
Santa Claus in sleigh card measures 3 x 8 inches and opens up to reveal in red typescript: "Wishing you a Merry Christmas and all the happiness the New Year can bring - Steve Rowland." Comes in original mailing envelope postmarked Los Angeles, Calif., Dec. 22, 1959.
Card is in near mint condition.
