Original Ray Anderson & His Tennessee Mountaineers promotional country music card from the late 1940s. Issued by Chaw Mank's Blue Ribbon Music Co., Staunton, Illinois.
Featured is Ray Anderson of WHTN, Huntington, West Virginia. Anderson also performed for the WWVA Jamboree and penned an "atomic platter" record in 1957 titled "Sputniks and Mutniks," which he recorded for both the Mountaineer and Starday labels. Anderson became an ordained minister in 1965, going the gospel music route via his own record labels, Gospel Recording Service and Victory.
Card is near mint, unused. Rare hillbilly music artifact from the 1940s. My last remaining Ray Anderson cards from this estate.
