This book successfully captures the sheer popularity of the greatest silent film actor of the era, whose 1926 funeral in New York City drew over 100,000 people, sparked a riot and spawned suicides among his fans.
Probably less than 1,000 of these books were published by Mr. Mank in 1929. Mank later authored the book Valentino: An Intimate Expose with Brad Steiger, published by Manor Books in 1975.
