Handwritten signed letter from old time radio baritone singer and radio program host Don Ross. His radio shows from the 1920s, '30s and '40s include Armand Program (WOR, Newark), Pontiac Matinee (CBS), Tune Twisters (NBC), The Jane Froman-Don Ross Show (NBC). He married actress-singer Jane Froman in September 1933, with the two having met while applying for the same radio job at WLW Cincinnati. They later divorced in February 1948.
Letter on personal stationery is dated 4/3/70: "Dear Chaw - Just wanted to acknowledge your $15 check to cover the tapes on: 'Lonely Street,' 'Time' & 'You Don't Deserve To Have Me At All.' Hope the tapes got to you safely. (Thanks!) Mail strike surely loused things up! Gotta run. Take it slow, Chaw. 'Bestest' Don. P.S. Have passed word along on Cowboy Copas & sending $2 to help fund!" Comes in hand-addressed envelope by Ross postmarked Jamaica, NY, Apr 4, 1970.
Letter is in crisp, near mint condition. No doubt as to authenticity and provenance.
